June 2—6, 2026
Yale University
New Haven, CT (USA)
Hosted by the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC)
Welcome! As with previous OKAA conferences, the organizing committee seeks to provide a space for specialists in Third Millennium BCE Egypt to meet and exchange ideas, report on recent discoveries, and foster collaboration amongst colleagues. In addition to four days of research papers, the conference will host three keynote speakers whose research specializes in the Old Kingdom, and attendees will have the opportunity to visit the recently inaugurated exhibit on early writing in ancient Egypt, which includes Old Kingdom papyri and sculptures from the Brooklyn Museum never displayed before. The conference will take place on Yale campus and there will be an option for the audience to join remotely.
We are honored to have 3 confirmed keynote speakers:
Dr. Richard Bussmann, Professor of Egyptology, Cologne University, Germany
Dr. Philippe Collombert, Professor of Egyptology, University of Geneva, Switzerland
Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA)
